LIGIA MARÍA RALDA ORTIZ
Professional Background
She works in a Non-Governmental Organization handling cases of kids and adolescents’ victims of sexual violence, human trafficking and unaccompanied migrant children, being the legal representative of the organization in the criminal area as a litigator in all the departments of the Republic of Guatemala, acquiring more experience in criminal litigation, from less serious crimes to crimes of greater risk.
She keeps herself constantly updated on the jurisprudence of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, the Constitutional Court and the Supreme Court of Justice, which gives her a plus when making decisions with a better foundation to prepare arguments for the defense.
Since 2017, Ligia is part of the Faculty of Legal and Social Sciences of the Regional University of Guatemala teaching staff, providing Criminal Law (General Part), Criminal Law (Special Part), Criminal Procedural Law courses, being a thesis and technical advisor, as well as part of the examining boards of Professional Technical Exams.
